Приветствую читателей с российской антарктической станции «Беллинсгаузен», расположенной на берегу острова Ватерлоо (Кинг-Джордж). В России сейчас — начало осени, а в Антарктике — начало весны. Август и сентябрь — самые холодные месяцы здесь. На станции Восток за минус 70, на остальных российских станциях порядка минус 25 ниже нуля.
На нашем острове колебания температуры составляет от −2 до −15ᵒС — это самое теплое место из всех российских антарктических станций, но и сложное, в отношении выбора одежды. На станции Восток, где я зимовал ранее, несмотря на лютые нечеловеческие морозы, было проще — максимально утепляйся, и холодно не будет!
Здесь, в сыром морском климате, с резкими перепадами температуры, большим количеством осадков от дождя до снега, от оттепели к морозам, с сильными ветрами и резкими переменами погоды в течение дня и даже часа, пришлось «поломать» голову с выбором одежды для моей,7-ой по счету, зимовке.
В качестве костюма я выбрал новую модель Norfin Atlantis и обувь — сапоги Berings. Взял и остальные элементы экипировки, проверенные в предыдущих экспедициях: термобелье Norfin Nord и носки Norfin T4A Arctic Merino Midweight.
Моя зимовка началась в конце апреля этого года. И сразу начались испытания костюма Norfin Atlantis. В выходные дни, когда команда из нескольких человек, выплывала на моторной лодке в бухту на рыбалку за натотенией. Костюм хорошо спасал как от очень холодного сильного ветра, так и от брызг почти замерзшей морской воды (0ᵒС).
Одежда достойно выдержала воздействие морской соленой водой, сохраняла тепло и всегда оставалась сухой внутри. Капюшон куртки, высокий воротник, надежно защищали от пронизывающего ветра.
Спустя месяц началась антарктическая зима, температура воздуха стала постепенно снижаться до минус 15, начались снегопады и метели. Бухта покрылась льдом — рыбалка закончилась. У нашего специалиста, океанолога, прибавилась работа и я, в дополнение к своей, стал ему помогать в научных измерениях.
За три месяца зимы, вместе с океанологом, у меня было много продолжительных походов по глубокому снегу и мокрому морскому льду. Огромную помощь в этих экспедициях оказали сапоги Norfin Berings. Своей легкостью и удобной широкой колодкой, а также пружинистой стелькой, снимающей напряжение в стопах при ходьбе, сэкономили мне много сил. Теплые внутренние сапожки, и хорошая термо- и гермоизоляция самого сапога, позволяют ноге всегда оставаться сухой и в комфортной, для тела, температуре.
Походы по пересеченной, заснеженной местности требуют очень больших физических затрат. Слишком теплая одежда приводит к дискомфорту, большему расходу сил и мешает качественно выполнять работу. Недостаточно теплая одежда может привести к переохлаждению, с вытекающим серьезным последствием — потерей здоровья. Исходя из личного опыта, я стараюсь немного перестраховаться, и одеваться теплее, чем требует текущие метеоусловия в момент выхода на маршрут.
Эта перестраховка много раз спасала меня при резких изменениях погоды. Способ успешно применим при наличии костюма, хорошо защищающего от ветра. В более теплой одежде, при высоких нагрузках, потовыделение идет активнее, поэтому доступ холодного ветра к частям тела очень опасен для здоровья. В этих условиях очень важно, чтобы одежда надежно защищала от ветра! В этом мне помог костюм Norfin Atlantis — я рад, что не ошибся в выборе.
Прошло всего четыре месяца моей зимовки в Антарктиде, и испытания одежды Norfin продолжаются.
